The Orthopedic PA

On March 10, myself and the MAPS Pre-PA group at CSULB had a great time meeting the creator of a new website called theorthopedicpa.com.  He discussed his journey from CSULB undergrad, through the PA application process, interviews and PA school. He now practices in a successful orthopedic practice here in Long Beach, CA. In the meeting he showed us the basics of suturing and knot tying. We got to practice on bananas with some old sutures I had gotten from a friend. Overall the meeting went great and the opportunity to become familiar with a critical skill like suturing early on in our careers is priceless.
I encourage everyone to check out theorthopedicpa.com.  Whether they are just to figure out if becoming a physician assistant is right for you or if you have been practicing for years.  It is also a great reference for orthopedic questions you may have. The site is still growing so be sure to come back often and see the progress.
